Starbucks, probably the highlight of people’s mornings, at least I know it is mine. All jokes aside, Starbucks Coffee really is my favorite coffee, and I only jumped on the coffee bandwagon a year ago. But if there is anything I love more than coffee it is lattes. Lattes are just the highlight of every season at Starbucks, ranging from pumpkin spice latte (HOLLY GRAIL), and now the new spring Magical Pink Drink that changes colors!
Those drinks are so delicious and completely addictive I have to admit, but unfortunately, they contain a great amount of sugar and artificial flavors. Just recently in Ontario, there was a law put forth, in regards for all the food companies to display the amounts of calories besides the drinks, and when that board went up and those numbers showed beside the drinks jaws were dropped!
But I have got some great news for you, there are much “healthier” options that you can slurp on without feeling guilty. So let’s get to it!
Let’s talk basics, the first thing you might want to consider is cutting down the size of your drink from Venti or Grande ( heartbreaking I know) to Tall. Another thing is always trying to get your Frappuccinos without any whipped cream on top, change up the milk into almond milk or skimmed and finally ask for a decreased amount of pumps ( I personally ask for 2, but that depends on your personal preference). O
Here are some drinks that are on the lighter side that you might want to consider.
Iced Coffee & Cold Brew ( Grande)
If you are a fan of coffee and need that extra boost in the morning, this one is for you. Here are some of the few healthier options that you can find at your local Starbucks!
- Toasted Coconut Cold Brew (50 Calories)
- Nitro Cold Brew with Sweet Cream (70 Calories)
- Iced Coffee (80 calories)
- Iced Coffee + Milk (110 Calories)
One thing to note is that Fraps are commonly known to be extremely calorie dense. But you can enjoy the occasional treat of having one, just make sure you add no whipped cream and if you really are keen on cutting down the calories, order a tall instead of a Grande.Just as heads up, the calories here are in relation to a Grande Frap minus the whipped cream. Personally, I find these options still to be calorie dense, but I can’t help but splurge every once in a while.
