The Products That Helped Clear My Skin

Over the years I have had my fair share of trial and error with skin care products. I have tried a variety of treatments to clear up my skin completely, due to the fact that I had to deal with acne for a fair amount of my teenage life.Granted my acne wasn’t severe, but regardless I know how hard it can be if you are dealing with the same matter. No matter the scale of severity, I want to tell you what I wish I could tell myself back then, your skin will clear up. I know how difficult and frustrating it could be, but the truth is most acne is caused by something internal rather than external. Of course, your skin care regime plays a vital factor in clearing your skin up and giving you a glow. But acne, usually, is formed due to hormones and so many more complicated things that we will discuss in another post.

The good news is that there is something that you can do to aid your skin in the healing process. The products that you put on your skin can play a vital role in improving the overall look of your skin and help in the clearing process. This post will be dedicated to the products that have truly helped me in achieving clear skin. And as a bonus, they are all relevantly cheap compared to other products on the market.

Embryolisse Multi-function Nourishing Moisturizer

There is a misconception in the skincare world that highlights a trivial error, there seems to be a belief that in order to clear your acne, you have to dry out your skin so that the pimple itself dries out. There is a partial truth to this statement, but for the most part, it isn’t true, if your skin is left unmoisturized, it will be left hot, flustered and flaky which will worsen the situation and slow down the healing process. What I would recommend doing is focusing on drying it the pimple itself, rather than your entire skinThereforeor I believe that you should moisturize your entire face and then apply a spot treatment on the troubled areas. That way you ensure that your skin is still plumped and hydrated, all the while, drying out areas of concern. Embryolisse is the moisturizer that helped me keep my skin, fresh and plump, without any irritation. This product is extremely gentle on my skin, with ingredients like shea butter, beeswax, aloe vera and soy proteins, that helps soothing and moisturizing.

Clinique Acne Solution (Oil-controlling Cleansing Mask)

If you haven’t already jumped on the mask bandwagon, I suggest you do immediately. Masks are probably one of the best tools out there to help clear your skin. I raved about this product previously and I dedicated a blog post reviewing this product before. And right now I am almost through my second bottle. This is a clay-based facial mask that claims to help heal blemishes, prevent breakouts and keep the skin shine free and I couldn’t agree more. Generally speaking, Clinique is one of the best brands I have tried that caters to sensitive acne prone skin. I recommend this mask for anyone struggling with acne.

Clinique Moisture Overnight Mask

It’s the dream, isn’t it? Magically waking up one morning with flawless skin. I feel like we all wish that a little when we try a new product and leave it overnight. Up to this day, I still haven’t found a magical cream that will leave you questioning your identity in the morning, but I have found something a bit similar. Clinique Moisture surge overnight mask leaves your skin looking super fresh, soft and moisturized the next morning. Whenever I apply this I can’t stop touching my skin because of how soft it is. But as this is a “mask” I wouldn’t recommend applying this every night or every other night for that matter. I personally apply this moisturizer when I have an event the next morning or when I feel like my skin needs a bit of hydration boost.

The Ordinary. Retinol 1%IMG_0344

Remember what I said earlier about spot clearing? This is the product that I use. Its retinol ingredient helps dry out the pimple to speed up the healing process. It is a retinoid treatment which is formulated to help clear up problematic skin. This brand, in case you haven’t heard of it yet, uses extremely simple ingredients in its products and it is extremely affordable. I just believe that using retinoid treatments helped clear my skin and I recommend giving it a go.

Clinique Exfoliating Scrub

I know what you are thinking at this point, is this girl sponsored by Clinique or something? No, I wish. The truth is, this brand is by far one of the greatest contributors to my clear skin. My skin seems to respond the best to there products and I am in love. Therefore of course when I wanted to try a new scrub I reached for Clinique because scrubs can be quiet harsh at times on the skin, I wanted something gentle and that will guarantee the sanity of my skin. This scrub is my favorite scrub of all time (so far). There isn’t anyone that I wouldn’t recommend this for, it lasts a long time, a little goes a long way and it leaves my skin feeling softer than ever. I can’t complain.

If you came here because you want to clear up your skin, because you are currently struggling, I want to tell you that I understand, fully and completely how bad it can feel sometimes. I know that it can feel a bit overwhelming and difficult, but mark my words, it is temporary. Before you roll your eyes, I need you to understand that almost every single girl I know has struggled with this at some point. It is temporary and your skin will clear up, therefore don’t stress about it too much, enjoy your life, and try not to let something temporary taint your happiness.
